Index
The villages of Volimes (there are two villages, “Ano Volimes” meaning “upper” and “Kato Volimes” meaning “lower”) are located about 30 km to the north-west of the capital of the island.
Volimes villages are one of the best spots from where you may start exploring the northern part of the island with the numerous sea-caves and the world-renowned “Navagio” (shipwreck).
The landscape at Volimes is especially picturesque and interesting, due to the traditionally oriented architecture of the buildings.
The church of St. Paraskevi, with some of the most interesting icons and hagiography, is one of the most visited sight-seeings.
One will not regret a visit to the monastery of St. Andreas, the monastery of St. Georgios ton Krimnon and the blue caves at Cape Schinari. From the top of Vrahionas mountain you may enjoy a spectacular view to Kephalonia. Finally, the famous Shipwreck beach will surely reward you with an unforgettable swim!
Your stay at Volimes
