Administration Zakynthos Zante

Zakynthos belongs to Ionian Islands complex (group of islands in the Ionian
sea) which includes the Prefectures of Corfu, Lefkada, Kefallinia and Zakynthos
and capital being the city of Corfu. Zakynthos comes second in poulation and third in size.

The prefecture of Zakynthos includes also the islands Strofades, Agios Ioannis
in Porto Vromi, Agios Nikolaos in Katastari Beach, Marathonisi Island in the
gulf of Laganas across the Lake of Keri, Pelouzo Island in the gulf of Laganas
across the village of Vasilikos.

Zakynthos Perfecture comprises of the following Municipalities ( districts )

1. Alikes, 2. Arkadion, 3. Artemision, 4. Elation, 5.Zakynthos, 6. Laganas

The official symbol of the island is "Zakynthos " (the first colonizer of the island ) sitting on a rock.

The Capital is Zakynthos.
