This world map is generated from images from the Aqua and Terra Earth observation satellites. The satellite photos were taken between 3 and 36 hours ago.
Some portions of the Earth's surface are not visible due to insufficient illumination, gaps in orbital coverage, or transmission errors.
The images are downloaded from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center's MODIS Rapid Response System.
Satellite orbital data is downloaded from the Dundee Satellite Receiving Station.
