The acclaimed modern dance company Cloud Gate Dance Theatre from Taiwan is scheduled to perform the successful production 'Moon Water' for four successive nights at the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron), from Thursday until Sunday.

The 24-member company founded in 1973 has numerous distinctions under its belt and an illustrious career that includes tours in Asia, Europe, North America and South America. It is so highly regarded in its native Taiwan that the government has named August 21 as "Cloud Gate Day" and also named the street where its offices are based "Cloud Gate Lane".

Using a unique style of dance that blends diverse disciplines, including Tai Chi, martial arts, modern dance and ballet, the dreamy 'Moon Water' is based on a buddhist proverb - "Flowers in a mirror and moon on the water are both illusory" - and explores the relationship between reality and reflection to the soundtrack of six solo cello works by Bach.
