Argassi is a resort of tavernas, bars and souvenir shops and little else. It is based around the main road which is very busy and dangerous to walk on especially with young children or pushchairs as the pavements are full of deep large holes and are non existent in places. The main beach is only a small strip of rather dirty sand but if you walk a little further out of town there are a couple of paths down to a small but cleaner bit of sand. The Tavernas compete for your custom from morning for breakfasts until meals late at night you can't walk anywhere without being hassled it's friendly but very wearing, after a week you are really tired of it. Zante is generally very nice, but we will not visit it again until a new airport building has been built. | |
