Kalamaki is located only 10 minutes drive from the airport so transfer times to resort should be quite short. Despite being near the airport, aircraft noise is not a problem as there are no night flights and during the day the landing aircraft provide an interesting spectacle. Kalamaki has one long main street so tends to be a bit fragmented, locals refer to new and old Kalimaki the new part being the end nearer the airport. It has a variety of shops, restaurants, bars and tavernas serving those of us holidaying in the surrounding hotels, villas and apartments and attracts ex-pats and locals from the surrounding area. There is a large choice of Greek tavernas and a Chinese and an Indian restaurant if you fancy a change one evening. It is a quiet resort and tends to attract families and couples rather than young, single revellers.
