Have just returned from a 10 day stay at the Alykanas Village and we can\'t wait to return. We loved the hotel and the resort was ideal for families. Our party consisted of myself, hubby and two sons aged 6 & 4. Having read other reports on the hotel we were sceptical before we arrived but needn\'t have been. Check in was fast and efficient. The room was spacious and well equipped. The pools are stunning and the water was warm. The views from the beach front pool are stunning! If I had to find fault with the hotel it would be that the beds were too hard for our liking. The staff were all very friendly and couldn\'t do enough to help. The resort of Alykanas is small and again very friendly. Most of the restaurants and tavernas cater for families as most have a play area or bouncy castle which was great. If I had to recommend the best restaurants ( We didn\'t find a bad one) it would be the Lemon Tree and Levante. Also Pepes Kebab shop had gyros (kebabs) and crepes to die for and at 1.60 euros were exceptional value. The only problem we encountered all holiday was on a horse and carriage ride. The drivers travelled too fast in our opinion and our driver went round a parked car on a bend as a car came in the opposite direction. Our driver couldn\'t stop in time and we crashed into the parked car resulting in the horse being injured. Whilst our family were ok it was quite a harrowing experience so my advice is if you go on a horse and carriage ride ensure the driver takes his time. We loved the hotel, resort and the island and we plan to return next year.
