Kalamaki beach is nice, although fairly busy. You have to stay towards the front of the beach by the shoreline as the Caretta Caretta (turtles) nest at the back. There are wardens who keep an eye on people and you get a sharp blow of the whistle if you venture to far back. The water is crystal clear and warm and there are pedlo?s for hire but no water sports here because of the Turtles. Kalamaki main strip is busy, with lots of taverna?s, bars, hotels and shops. It?s a really long strip and you should find something there to entertain you. It mainly consisted of families and couples rather than the younger crowd who populated Laganas. We ate out every night and can say we didn?t have a bad meal in Kalamaki. I would like to recommend three of the restaurants that we used. The first has to be Michaelo
