Kalamaki is a lovely little quiet place. The beach in Kalamaki isn't great, but if you walk about 30 minutes along, you'll reach Laganas beach which is slightly better although not very sandy. There are many resturarants and bars which serve food and snacks. I would definitely recommend 'Milo's' restaurant. Very reasonably priced and gorgous food, both greek and english. Extremely friendly people they couldn't do enough for you. We were so impressed we kept going back.
