The hotel is aprox 20 minutes walk from main entertainment, but the walk is lined with bars and shops so we never found it a problem. Its flat too, but take care the pavements in Laganas are very dangerous in places. Laganas itself is a tourist town,totaly geared towards eating and drinking. Definitely not the place to find the real Greece. It suited our party of two adults and two 18 year olds, we wanted lively and it deliveres on that front. The beach is not too busy could always find a piace to sun ourselves, the sand tends to be a bit hard packed as people use it to walk into town from outside. Don't book trips through the reps the same can be booked localy much cheaper,do try the Jeep safari( book at the top of the main street)it was a great way to see the island and realy good fun.
