We visited Laganas in Zakynthos 25 years ago when there were just a few hotels and very little else. 25 years later it is very different, loads of hotels, clubs and shops . It has become a resort for lads and ladette groups but don't be put off by this as most of the clubs, discos bars etc are concentrated down a couple of streets, our hotel was only half a mile away from this area and was very quiet, so you could take it or leave it , we saw no trouble during our stay. We were very pleased that the turtles still nest on the beaches and are protected , although there is always a pressure on space for them. Well worth a boat trip to try and spot them, but go with a reputable operator as some of them seem to harrass the turtles. Most annoying points were an endless procession of beach vendors and very
