We walked to Zante town from Argassi, and that made us realise just how nice Argassi was - Zante town was a bit grim. The beaches in Argassi are lovely - the water is really clean and fairly warm. It is also nice and shallow so you can go far out without fear of drowning! We went at the very beginning of the season so it was nice and quiet - no problems getting sunbeds on the beach. We also walked to Vasilikos - far too far to walk, but we didn't realise that until we were nearly there! - it's worth going there (by car!) as the beach is gorgeous.
