With this being our first trip to Zante we were expecting a taste of rural Greece. Did we get it ? Well....we did and we didn't. Argassi, if you manage to pull yourself away from some of the grim English bars littering the town has some superb 'off-the-beaten-track' tavernas and all within a fifteen minute walk of the town centre. To be honest, if you are on holiday to enjoy the sights and sounds of Greece then avoid the town centre like the plague. There are plenty of second rate english themed bars if that's you fancy, but we found them all cheap, and to be honest full of the people we had travelled thousands of miles to get away from.
