I totally agree. I got back from Zakynthos yesterday. I too was ashamed to be British. I learned as much Greek as I could manage before going and was thanked for my efforts by the locals. However, the British (Bratish?) I encountered were for the most part loud and manner-impaired, speaking English and indeed very rude to the locals. Some of the Brits I did meet were very nice and also commented on the disgusting behavior of our fellow country folk. However, the worst behaved were the Germans, Im sorry to say. Pushing in front of me in queues was bad enough but when they stood in the middle of a narrow pavement, talking, refusing to move even when I politely asked in GERMAN really annoyed me.
